Mr Tanimura is a 20th generation chasen (tea whisk) maker, supplying tea masters across Japan and the world with his handmade whisks. His workshop is in a beautiful traditional house surrounded by a classical Japanese garden. You can visit the workshop and shop on weekdays. If you want to watch the making process or even make your own whisk and make tea with it under Mr Tanimura’s guidance, you need to email one week ahead. Mr Tanimura speaks English. The best way to reach the studio is by taxi from Gakken Kita-Ikoma Station. Email the studio if you want instructions for taking the bus.
