Visit Nara

This large souvenir store down the road from Toshodaiji Temple carries a comprehensive range of Nara souvenirs and products, along with snacks and drinks. There are some signs in English to help you decipher the various jars of pickles and miso paste. It is one of the few places you can find German style Soni Kogen beer from a micro brewery in the far north east wilds of Nara. There is a cafe and rest area with quick snacks like yakitori skewers and Japanese sweets and they also serve ice cream made with milk from a local dairy, in seasonal flavors like Yamato matcha, persimmon, fig and honey.
