This is a shukubo, an accommodation in the monastery at Chogo Sonshi-ji Temple, located in the center of the temple complex. At this shukubo, children are also welcome and kids meals are available. It is apparently a popular get away for women overcoming heart break, and they offer a “purifying” ceremony to banish those blues. The simple traditional rooms offer views over the forest and temple buildings. The chance to stroll the temple grounds by lantern light after other visitors have gone home is a popular draw here.
