Tatsuta-age: the Best Fried Chicken in Ikaruga
How do you make fried chicken even more delicious? Marinate in a mix of soy sauce and ginger, then dredge it in potato flour, for a lighter, crispy finish. This style of cooking originated in Ikaruga, which is also famous for organic, free range Yamato chickens.
Tatsuta-age gets its name from its delicate amber colour, which is supposed to look like the autumn leaves that grow along the Tatsuta River. Every restaurant has its own recipe, so try more than one. Pick up a Tatsuta-age walking map at the station.
