Hiyori specializes in oil blotting papers. The paper can remove oil and shine without damaging makeup. Originally a by-product of the gold-leaf industry, (the store’s emblem is a pair of crossed mallets for beating gold), the thin paper is made without chemicals. The packets of paper are inexpensive and decorated with whimsical illustrations of Nara scenery, making for ideal souvenirs.
