萬々堂通則

Founded in the late Edo-period, this sweet shop offers a lighter, more contemporary take on traditional sweets. One of their most popular items is a light, rice flour donut, a sweet originally brought over by envoys from China’s Tang Dynasty. It is made in the shape of a warrior's helmet and is also a popular offering during festivals at Kasuga Taisha Shrine. The sweets are wrapped in paper printed with the shrine's distinctive wisteria design.
