Visit Nara

As the oldest inn in Dorogawa Onsen, this family-run ryokan has served travelers and Shugendo pilgrims for around 500 years. In summer, guests can sit out on the wide wooden verandas, festooned with lanterns. In winter, keep warm by the open fire. The onsen baths have mountain views, and some can be reserved for private use. Stays include a kaiseki dinner and a Japanese style breakfast; there are very few other dining options in town. If you are traveling into the area by bus, transfers can be arranged to and from the main bus stop.
