Visit Nara

The high walls of Koriyama castle were built hastily from any stones that could be found, including jizo figures and stones from local temples. To appease the spirits that might have been offended by this, a festival is held in early April. Snack stalls are set up and people gather under the cherry blossoms. There is also a large display by the local goldfish farms, featuring rate breeds.
