Owl Cafe Watawata
フクロウカフェわたわた
If you’ve already visited one of Japan’s ubiquitous cat cafes, you might want to try something different. Dining under the gaze of owls is quite a unique experience. At Owl Cafe Watawata, you can also pet the owls, have them on your arm and take photos with them (no flash). Near the top of Sanjo Dori Street, the cafe is easy to spot, just up a short flight of steps. They have simple instructions in English and the staff are used to welcoming foreign visitors. They have about 12 distinct breeds of owl, though there are usually around four or five owls “working” at one time. The ¥1300 entry fee includes a drink, and the opportunity to experience the owls for one hour.
