This deceptively large cafe near the center of Imaicho is set in a traditional house built in 1702 with many original features. The pleasant courtyard garden is the best place to relax in good weather, with tables and market umbrellas dotted around a small pond. On the menu, you will find local specialties like kakinoha sushi, nyumen (somen noodles in hot soup) and soba, plus traditional sweets, tea and coffee. While there are no English menus, there are photos of most of the lunch sets, and the owner is very friendly (and knowledgeable about the area), and speaks a little English.
