Visit Nara

This is the upper part of the mountain (literally "the upper 1,000 trees"), and generally less crowded during cherry blossom season than the other sites lower down. It is the last place that the blossoms hit full bloom, so you can still see flowers here in late-April. Although there are fewer cherry trees here, there are pleasant spots for picnics, and the view from Hanayagura Observatory over the whole mountain is striking.
