浮見堂

In the middle of Nara Park, this classical hexagonal wooden pavilion appears to float on Sagiike Pond. It is a beautiful spot to relax and take photographs at any time of day, but especially early on a misty morning when the deer are roaming, or around sunset as the park and pavilion lights come on. In early August each year, the Nara Tokae lantern festival sees the pavilion lit up with hundreds of candles, giving it an ethereal, fairytale-like atmosphere.
