Although it has lovely gardens with masses of plum blossoms in late February, this 1400 year old temple tends to be overlooked in favor of Horyuji Temple nearby. There are several National Treasures, including a 4m high gilded Amitabha figure, dedicated to the victims of the Hiroshima bomb.
Take a bus from Horyuji Station (ask for the Higashiando stop) or walk for about 30 minutes.
