Inabuchi Tanada Terraced Rice Fields
稲渕の棚田
Asuka is famous for its terraced rice paddies, which look spectacular at sunset in late spring, when the sun reflects off the water. You can reach the area by bicycle or on foot, about 20 minutes' walk from the Ishibutai Tumulus. Head towards the village of Inabuchi. When you see cars stopped and people taking photographs, you’re in the right place. In late September, the paddies are accented with wide bands of red spider lilies. Combine your visit with stops at Asukadera Temple, one of Japan’s oldest temples, and beautiful Okadera Temple for a relaxed day trip from Nara City.
