A shrine dedicated to fertility and easy childbirth, the grounds of Asuka Niimasu Shrine are scattered with large phallus-shaped stones known as ubuishi. It is perhaps best known for its harvest and fertility festival held every February, known as the Onda Festival, a humorous reenactment of fertility rites.
