Visit Nara

This restaurant is almost hidden, on the fifth floor of the Tounomine Kanko Hotel. Look out for the sign at the entrance. You have to take off your shoes and wear the hotel slippers, but in autumn especially, it’s worth it for the stunning views over Tanzan Shrine and the rich colors. The restaurant is a little dated, with retro linoleum floors and cafeteria style seating. There is a choice of reasonably priced Japanese set meals and lighter items for lunch. The hotel also has an attractive bath with forest views. Non-staying guests can use the bath for ¥800.
